Shrimp peak from September to December.

Cold-water shrimp reach their best quality during these colder months when the meat is firm and sweet. For sustainability, look for shrimp from fisheries using bypass gates or separator grates, which allow non-target species to escape the nets and reduce bycatch. Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification is the standard indicator for well-managed wild stocks.
